Framing And Hanging Oil Paintings
Framing a Fine Art Reproduction Oil Painting
While frames offer structural support and protection, oil paintings are reasonably safe once they are mounted on the wall. So, the primary judgment in framing oil paintings is a visual one. The frame gives a more finished look to the oil painting and helps define the boundaries of the artwork. The marriage of a frame with a hand painted fine art reproduction oil painting may be harmonious or discordant, enhancing or distracting- a poorly chosen frame can ruin the appearance of the oil painting, while an appropriate one can make it shine.
There are many different styles, colors and price ranges for frames with cheap ones made in molded plastic and more expensive ones carved in wood. A fine art reproduction oil painting may be seen in different frames either by the use of computer-generated montages on the internet, or by physically standing the oil painting in successive frames in a framer’s shop. The final choice of the frame depends on the owner’s personal taste, the proposed location of the oil painting, the harmony between oil painting and frame, and the relationship of the frame to the room where it will hang.
With modern fine art reproductions, you may choose to hang your oil painting without a frame. Providing that the stretcher is solid and reasonably thick, then the oil painting can be wired to hang without a frame. This unframed approach to exhibiting a fine art reproduction oil painting means that the viewer focuses entirely on the artwork itself.
How to Hang a Hand Painted, Fine Art Reproduction Oil Painting
Materials:
2 eye screws
Woven picture wire.
Procedure:
1) Mark 2 points on the inside of the two side stretcher bars about 25% down from the top of the canvas.
2) Screw the eyes into the stretcher being careful not to apply pressure to the stretched area of the canvas.
3) Measure a piece of wire the width of the canvas plus 6-8 inches.
4) Thread the wire through the first screw twice then neatly wrap the remaining wire around itself.
5) Pull the wire across the back of the oil painting so it is not quite taut then repeat the threading process on the second side.
6) To hang the oil painting, use an appropriately strong hook, i.e. one that can support double the weight of the oil painting. The oil painting should hang as flush to the wall as possible.
To be an art expert, you should follow several steps. It is not enough to have talent; there are some useful recommendations too. Oil Paintings need extreme care to preserve them for long time. Linda Mc Cain Smith will provide you the most useful tips to preserve your Oil Painting Reproductions.

Two years ago, Juan Carlos Camacho - a well-known watercolor artist in his native San Jose, Costa Rica - visited Georgia, riding motorcycles around rural areas with his host (and art collector) Tom Valdes, who lives at The Georgia Club.
Yarbrough: Public arts funding is a good investment
Up until the final days of the 2010 legislative session, Georgia was about to become the only state in the union without an arts council. The Georgia House had dropped nearly all funding for the arts, and it wasn't coming back until the state Senate, under the leadership of Appropriations Committee Chairman Jack Hill, R-Reidsville, stepped in and restored $860,000 for the Georgia Council for the Arts. That money will allow the state agency to qualify for federal and state matching arts grants.
The Fine Art of Wining
For some people, finding a good wine is a lifetime's work. But if you're among the number of people who'd just like to find a wine they enjoy, maybe even two wines--a red and a white, have no fear. You can get to a point where you can handle some wine basics without too much trouble. And you can have fun getting there by setting up a wine-tasting evening. An Ohio couple who tried this said they'd enjoy such an evening again "whether it's just the two of us or several couples--as long as we keep it casual."
